Living Lab team at the ASTC and NEMA 2012 annual meetings

November 9, 2012: The Living Lab team attended the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) annual conference in Columbus, Ohio. National Living Lab project co-PIs Becki Kipling and Marta Biarnes (Museum of Science, Boston), teamed up with Rita Deedrick (Senior Director of Evaluation, Planning and Research at COSI) and Andrew Scott Baron (Assistant Professor of Psychology, University of British Columbia) to present the session: “Visitor, Meet Scientist: Onsite Research Collaborations in Science Centers.”

Living Lab at the American Psychological Association conference

August 15, 2012: The Living Lab team attended the American Psychological Association's (APA) annual conference in Orlando, Florida August 2-4, where project co-PI Marta Biarnes served as a presenter for “Promoting psychology as a STEM discipline: Ethnic minority representation and participation”.

National Living Lab team at InterActivity 2012

May 10, 2012: More than 40 museum professionals attended a session at the 2012 InterActivity conference in Portland, Oregon, chaired by project PI Becki Kipling. Project team members shared the benefits of the Living Lab model for museums and academics, discussed the process of translating child development research for museum audiences, and showcased four hands-on activities developed by the project team. Living Lab at the USA Science & Engineering Festival

April 15, 2012: Living Lab educators from the Museum of Science collaborate with the APA to host a booth at the USA Science & Engineering Expo in Washington, D.C. on April 28-29, 2012. Learn more at the APA website.

February 15, 2012: 32 participants attended a “National Living Lab” project team meeting, held over two days in January 2012. January 15, 2011: Living Lab collaborator, Dr. Laura Schulz (Professor of Cognitive Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology), was honored with a Presidential Early Career Award for Science and Engineering.
