What is a National Living Lab Regional Meeting?

National Living Lab Regional Meetings bring together museum educators and academic professionals interested in discussing best practices in sharing child development research with the public, within and beyond the Living Laboratory® framework. At Regional Meetings, professional educators and scientists experience Living Laboratory first-hand at one of the project’s hub sites by observing families engage with cognitive scientists in the museum setting and learning about the public education and professional development materials that make up the Living Lab “toolkit”. Each meeting includes formal presentations from National Living Lab community members, round table discussions that highlight current research topics, and small group activities aimed at helping participants implement, grow and sustain successful collaborative programs. Funding is available to support travel and lodging for attendees. Participants can register on their own, or as a museum-academic pair.
